Internationalization of the Curriculum Workshop
(Spring 2022 In-Person Workshop)
Learn how to infuse a global dimension into your curriculum to prepare students for success in today's interconnected world. Our primary goal is to increase global learning opportunities for students by guiding faculty in enhancing their curriculum with international, intercultural, and global dimensions. Faculty who successfully complete our Internationalization of Curriculum Workshop will be able to submit an application package to receive a Global Learning course designation and their students will be enrolled in our Alamo Global Student Distinction Program and be eligible to receive the corresponding Digital Badge throughout Pathway Program.
The Office of International Programs offers two modalities for faculty to choose from based on their availability.
4-hour Intensive In-Person Workshop
This 4-hour intensive workshop offers participants a chance to engage with other like-minded individuals from various disciplines. You will have the chance to learn from other people's experiences in a lively and interactive environment. You will make meaningful connections and develop partnerships while learning solutions, and tips and tricks to internationalize your curriculum. The Office of International Programs will send out notifications regarding upcoming workshops.
Asynchronous Canvas Workshop
A self-directed training that prepares participants to integrate Global Learning Opportunities in their academic course(s). This training has two parts: an asynchronous online course and 2 synchronous skills check (via Zoom). This course is fully online, asynchronous, and takes approximately 5 hours to complete. The skills check meeting is up to an hour.
Internationalization of the Curriculum Workshop
I want to thank you for your willingness to go through the process of internationalizing one or more of your courses.
We acknowledge the great contribution on behalf of all of us, but particularly on behalf of all our students. Recent data and the input provided by many employers both locally and nationally have provided solid evidence of the need we have to assist our students to meet the challenges they will encounter after completing their education goals at our district. We strongly believe that the infusion of our Alamo Colleges District Global Learning Competencies in your courses will empower your students to meet complex challenges and be successful in finding and working in an ever-changing and interconnected environment.
As you complete this training do not hesitate to let us know how we can be of assistance. Again, thank you so much for your dedication to our students!
